A bit about the Artist

I let nature do some of my work…

All wood bases that look black are naturally stained by immersing in a dam on my small patch of Australia – to get tannin stained and gnawed at by water insects.  So the holes in the timber are all naturally occurring and not made by me.  Other timber has been whittled away by the likes of termites.

I carefully hand select every crystal I use.

Some rocks are coated in slate finish. All wood is lacquered. All metal parts are clear coated to retain shine. All crystals are hand wrapped and the copper wire is hand twisted. All the wood is hand polished and is sourced from on property. The solder I use is lead free. Everything apart from the crystals and lighting components I use is recycled or found in my natural environment.

I make all sorts of things like Sea Snails, Hermit Crabs, Jewellery, Walking and Trekking Sticks, Birds, Frogs, Dragons, Scorpions, Coin or Crystal Trees and Miniature Castles made of small tiles.  But Insects are what I like to make the most.

A recent addition to my repertoire is the Warrior Men collection – I get a kick out of creating these little guys as each character has a different personality.

I appreciate the importance of Light and Shadow – the light shines through the crytals and circuit boards during the day and brings out their colours, and then at night some pieces throw awesome shadows within the ambient light.

I’ve been making things for years (>35yrs now) and selling some here and there. But I thought it was about time I got serious and getting an online store was way overdue exited to start selling???

I try to achieve a high level of quality and finish on each and every piece.
